The Big Lie That Is Undermining Democracy and Our Community. Most people, especially from the western hemisphere, take democracy for granted, which could be a mistake that causes us dearly.
Until the November 2020 election, the United States of America prided itself on the smooth transfer of power and the fact that once an election was held, the losing party would concede gracefully. The political transfer of power would be undertaken with dignity and integrity.
Unfortunately, the USA was not aware that they elected in 2016 a demigod that would rather destroy the country and democracy than concede that he lost an election because most American people did not want him as the head of the country.
Donald Trump, unable to accept that he lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden, set out on a path to destroy the very fabric of American society and the constitution on which American principles are founded.
The Bible in Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Donald Trump has spread the biggest lie of the 21st century, convincing millions of American that the Democrats stole the election from him.
According to polls in the US, 70% of Republicans believe that Joe Biden is not the legitimately elected president of the USA because of the ‘Big Lie’ spread by Trump, members of the Senate and the Congress. They are so ingrained in their defence of the lie that they are willing to expel a conservative Republican like Liz Cheney from the number three leadership position of the Republican party.
During the Black Lives Matter march in Washington, Donald Trump uses the security service to create a path for him to stand in front of a church and held up a Bible. Still, if he had any interest in the truth of the word of God, then he would realise that letting corrupt communication proceed out of his mouth is an abomination and against the teaching of God.
The ‘Big Lie’ causes severe consequences to the American people. It saw a vast number of Republican states enacting voter suppression laws that take the country back to the Jim Crow days, which can never be good for democracy. It would appear that the so-called 70% of Republicans that support the big lie do not understand that once you allow people to warp democracy, you are on the road to autocracy.
The fact of the matter regarding the lie of a stolen election will only cause the Republicans to be in political darkness. It is their own fault because they seek absolute power, corrupting the Republican party to the core.
Every democracy requires at least two parties in which to function effectively. There must be different ideas and ideologies, but when your party becomes a cult and puts your freedom in the hands of a demigod cult leader, that path can be detrimental for the next generation.
When the next generation looks at the history of the Republican party, the January 6 insurrection and the big lie which causes the storming of another seat of government, they will ask where were my ancestors in all of this and why did they allow a liar like Trump to almost destroying democracy and democratic process and the constitution.
