Jailed Coventry arsonist sent death threats from prison cell

AN ARSONIST has received another jail sentence after sending threatening letters to a witness from prison.

Rebecca Cooper, aged 23, told her victim to “start planning her funeral” because she was going to kill her when she got out.

Coventry Crown Court heard that Cooper, a prisoner in Peterborough but previously of Coventry, was convicted of arson in 2007.

She was released in April 2009 but was later recalled after sending 20 threatening letters to a woman who had made a statement to police implicating Cooper in the arson.

She was recalled to prison and given an 18-month jail sentence in October last year for harassment. A restraining order was also imposed for five years.

But while back at prison, Cooper continued sending letters, which led to this latest conviction.
