Convicted and deported felon faces new charges

SANTA ANA, Calif.—A convicted felon who was deported to Mexico three years ago has been charged with breaking into the bedrooms of two girls and two young women to molest them.

Prosecutors say 47-year-old Roberto Jacobo Reyes was charged Thursday after investigators linked him to one of the attacks through DNA evidence gathered in a previous case.

Police say Reyes told detectives he’d assaulted other females while they slept.

Reyes allegedly fondled a 11-year-old, a 13-year-old, a 20-year-old and a 22-year-old, all in Santa Ana.

Police say he was deported to Mexico after serving four years in state prison for molestation. He later illegally returned to Orange County.

Reyes faces 115 years in prison if convicted. His arraignment was postponed until June 11.
