Nine-year-old killed in minivan domestic

A NINE-year-old girl died after a minivan in which she was seated was riddled with bullets while a family tried to flee a domestic dispute in Davie, Florida.

The dead child, two women, and three other children were in the minivan when the incident unfolded yesterday, reported the Sun Sentinel.

Police are hunting for the shooter, who they identified as Jody Gordon, 41. He was last seen in a green Honda Civic driven by an unidentified woman.

The child, and her mother – the driver of the Dodge Caravan – were not identified.

Davie Police Sgt. Greg Gasse described Gordon as the woman’s “former boyfriend” and said they have children together, but added that Gordon was not the father of the girl killed yesterday.

About 11:50am Sunday, the woman and children were inside the van and heading away from their apartment when Gordon opened fire, police said.

“There were several rounds fired. So it’s lucky, if you can call it that, there was only one person who was shot,” Gasse said.
