When is it politically correct to pay homage to the dead?

Following the death of Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlalla and the subsequent furore regarding tributes that has been made about him.  When is it politically correct to pay a tribute to someone who has die.

I imagine that that countries that are complaining about the tribute made by Frances Guy and others, have a few skeletons in there closet that they are not keen to have the public know about.

Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlalla may have been all that they protrayed him to be, but the man is dead, and if in his life time these individuals was privy to a side of the man that the majority of the world may have not seen, I cannot see the harm in these people commenting about the man.

Some of these countries are far too sensitive and they should learn that to forgive is divine and as long as we harbour the hatred in our heart because other have wrong us then we will always set the oil to fuel the fire of terrorism and terrorist attacks.

I did not see where Frances Guy was promoting any terrorist activity or even glorifying terrorist act, she made a comment about a person that she believe was correct, and if we are now going to censor people from making personal comments because it is not politically correct the we are heading down a slippery road and need to pull the reins to stop before we reach a point of no return.

Irrespective, of the position that individual holds, they should have the right to voice their personal opinions, she did not voice her opinions on behalf of the Government, and she should be able to pay homage to a dead man without been character assassinated.
