To say I am fed up with the news about Russian spies, American spies, is putting it mildly.
Where is the great surprise everyone who have any ounce of common sense is aware that all of these countries have spies in some shape or form.
Russia want to know what the US is up to the US want to know what Russia is doing the UK want to know as much and so would most other country. If anyone really believe that because the cold-war is over that these countries do not care what each other are doing is clearly living in cloud cuckoo land and the general public is certainly not that dumb.
The only problem that I see is that these spies are breaking the number one rule in spying, ‘do not get caught’. The silly bunch that has allowed themselves to be exposed is their making and if politician really believe that this spy saga shock the ordinary man in the street then they are in for a rude awaking.
The secret is out we, the public are well aware of the ‘spying game’ and to be frank we really do not care. We elect politician to protect us and if they have to resort to spying to ensure that they are kept abreast of what each country is up to then so be it.
I imagine that spying is an intricate part of our society, it has been going on for so long that there is no way that it is ever going to come to an end. The fact that these clandestine activities may be the only way for security organisations to know when something could be fundamentally going wrong, and put in place counter-measures, is a fact of life.
In this day and age when there are so much terrorist, and terrorism going on Lord knows we need to have our spies on the ground, doing the things that most of us never dream we would do, looking out for our interest, making sure that nuclear weapons do not find their way in fanatical hands, I will sleep easier to know that they are out there.
So, I really do not see what all this fuss is about with the individuals that have been caught, they are the silly ones. They should take a leaf out of James Bond, 007 book, and maybe they will be a tad more careful in the future when spies on all side decide to undertake clandestine operation.
Let hear more about what Governments are going to do about the declining economy, climate changes, global slavery, starvation, child abuse, homelessness, employment and less about the spies, thank you.
