TWO students were shot at a southern California elementary school today, Fox News Channel reported.
The students at Kelly Elementary School in Carlsbad were transported by helicopter to the hospital.
One person was reportedly in custody following the 12:00pm local time incident, and police were reportedly searching for another possible suspect.
Scott Chandler, who lives across the street from the school, said he and several construction workers tackled the gunman, KNSD-TV reported.
Mr Chandler described the gunman as being in his mid-40s with short gray hair.
