Each of us has human beings have the propensity to do stupid things and sometimes the things we do are so infantile that it defy logic.
However, the people who I detest more than anything, are those who choose to serve the public and then betray our trust. If a person chose to serve as a Police Officers, then there is an expectation that they possess a certain amount of integrity and should know right from wrong. So when a story emerges that a policewoman was sentence to 2 years in prison for corruption, for helping a group of criminals steal expensive cars, it makes me mad as hell.
This is suppose to be the person who find these criminal elements and lock them away, instead she has been providing them with information that allowed them to commit the crime, is deplorable, and I do not believe the sentence fit the crime, she should have been given a longer jail time.
What could posses a person in her position, given the responsibility to serve and protect the public, to betrayed the trust placed in her.
I find this kind of crime totally disgraceful and these are the crimes that the courts should be imposing heavy sentences on, in order that they deter any other potential individual that believe they can use a badge of honour to commit disgusting criminal activities.
This is a mother, who should be teaching her child about integrity, decency, what it takes to be a productive member of society, and yet all that child will grow up with, and have to face later in her life, is that her mother who was place in a position of trust is nothing more than a common thief.
It make my blood really boil, when these type of stories emerge. I suppose that one imagine that these situation occurs in all aspect of life, but when it become public knowledge, it does not take away the disgust that one feel. My only regret about this sordid affair is that the courts was so lenient with her, they should have locked her up and throw the key away, she deserve it.
