Gay cleric barred – And So It Should Be

By Sandrea:- MY GRIPE

I am not homophobic, I have nothing against people who are homosexual, however there are certain places that I believe that homosexuality should not be flaunted. I agree with the the Church of England blocking Jeffrey John from been appointed Bishop.

God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, and there is a divine reason why that was done.  If a person chose to be homosexual, then they have the right to do so but, they should keep that private part of their life to themselves.  I do not want to go to church and have a homosexual or lesbian cleric, bishop, pastor, whatever preaching a sermon to me.

That would make them hypocritical, as they are not following the teaching of the bible and therefore, I cannot see what they would have to offer me. The greater majority of society believe that homosexuality is wrong and irrespective of one’s belief, I personally do not want a person sexuality forced upon me.  I believe that for these religious individuals that are making their sexuality know and still want to retain their positions, are trying to force their sexuality upon the public.

They are saying ‘this is who I am, and I expect you to accept me’. well I do not buy into that. Especially in a climate where the Catholic church is reeling from the enormous sex abuse scandal by various priest, who have been abusing children for decades, then to have other christian organisation appointing homosexual person in certain position would be so wrong.

I live by the teaching of the bible and although I am not a fanatical individual, I believe that, as the bible say that we should leave all vengeance to God, and the very same bible as stated, Leviticus 20 verse 13 “If a man also lie with mankind as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them”.

When Jeffrey John decided to become a cleric, with aspirations to be a Bishop, did he forget that part of the teaching of the bible, did he believe that by admitting that he his homosexual would make people be more sympathetic to him so that they forget what the bible say about been homosexual.  He cannot, in my opinion, have anything to teach me or his congregation for that matter, as he has broken one of the fundamental teaching of the bible.

I do believe that if a person is purporting themselves as man of God then there are certain creed that must be followed and you cannot be a representative of God if you believe you can willy-nilly break the rules because they do not fit with your life style.

Jeffrey John can be one of the two thing, he can either be homosexual, or he can be a Cleric, but he cannot be both, has not just society will not accept it, it is wrong in the eyes of God.  The same God that he want to go on a pulpit and preach about.
