British PM’s wife gives birth to baby girl

THE wife of British Prime Minister David Cameron has given birth to a baby girl, Downing Street has announced.

“The Prime Minister and [Samantha] Cameron are delighted to announce the birth of their fourth child, a baby girl,” Downing Street said.

Mrs Cameron and the baby, who was born weighing six pounds, one ounce, were said to be doing very well.

“The PM and Mrs Cameron would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the hospital for their help and kindness.”

The baby was born at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, southwestern England – where the Camerons travelled for their annual vacation.

The couple also have a four-year-old son, Arthur Elwen, and a six-year-old daughter, Nancy.

Their eldest son Ivan, who was severely disabled, died in February 2009 aged six.
