Bring a red rose For Gregory

Isaacs...to be buried November 20.

THE theme for a thanksgiving service to celebrate the life of Reggae star, Gregory Isaacs, which will be held at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston on November 20 at 10:00 am, will be ‘A red rose for Gregory’.

Members of the public who plan to attend are being asked to take along a red rose and to wear black or white or a combination of both and to be seated by at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Viewing of Gregory’s body will take place at the same venue on the day before between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.

The body of the veteran Reggae crooner will be flown to Jamaica on Thursday.

Issacs died from the effects of lung cancer in England on October 25.

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture is assisting the Isaacs family with the arrangements for the thanksgiving service which is being planned by a committee comprised of family members, music industry personnel and ministry staff.

The first hour of the Service will be a musical tribute to Gregory and will feature Reggae artistes such as Lloyd Parkes and We the People Band, Ken Boothe, Freddie McGregor, Mavado, the Tamlins and Bongo Herman, among others.

Isaacs’ remains will be interred be at the Dovecot Cemetery.
