American man kidnapped in Pakistan

AN American man was kidnapped from his home in the Pakistani city of Lahore on Saturday, Xinhua news agency reported, citing details published by local media.

Police Senior Superintendent, Abdul Razaq Cheema, said a group of up to 10 unidentified people had forcibly taken the US national from his residence about 4:00am local time.

The victim was named by local media as Justin Warner, 63, who had been living in the area for four or five years.

Police said he had been “providing consultancy.”

There has been no comment from the American embassy or US consulate in Lahore, Xinhua reported.

Cheema said officers had been deployed at the city’s exit points in a bid to foil any attempt to take the American out of Lahore.
