Tennessee parents ‘grew pot in childrens’ bedrooms’

A TENESSEE couple is in jail after being accused of growing marijuana in the bedrooms of their children, myFOXmemphis.com reported.

Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies said they were called to the area after the Cordova couple’s two-year-old was spotted playing in the street.

Once there, officers said they found the toddler inside the home, along with a 14-year-old and a large amount of drugs.

Investigators said the father, Mark Tucker, admitted to using his 14-year-old son’s closet and 11-year-old daughter’s bedroom to grow pot for personal use.

He told police he used the son’s room as a starter-grow room and his daughter’s bedroom as a finishing room.

In all, 29 plants were found inside the house.

Investigators said they found roughly $6,000 worth of marijuana inside the home, including a stash in the kitchen freezer.

Tucker and his wife Debra are charged with child abuse and neglect, along with possession of marijuana with intent to manufacture, deliver or sell.

“That they would endanger their kids like that, it’s sad,” said neighbor Felicia Clark.
