A SEVENTH man was in police custody today over the gangland killing of a Liverpool Sunday league football manager.
The 31-year-old was arrested at his Norris Green home overnight. He was being quizzed about the shooting of 46-year-old West Derby dad Nicky Ayers last month.
Ayers was shot coming out of his daughter’s home in South Cantril Avenue just after midnight on April 30.
Police have recovered six bullet casings but have refused to say how many times Ayers – a convicted drug dealer – was shot.
Six other men arrested on suspicion of killing the manager of Croxteth’s Western Approaches amateur football team are currently on bail.
