Search teams comb woods for missing teen

A 15-year-old boy who relies on medication to control seizures was reported missing from his East Montgomery County home on Saturday.

Search teams this morning are combing the woods near Michael Bradford’s house on Village Drive, just off Baptist Encampment Road.

Michael’s grandmother last saw him at home around 2 p.m. Saturday. She and the teen’s mother looked for him until about 7:30 p.m., then called the Sheriff’s Office, according to officials.

Sheriff’s deputies scoured the woods into the night, with the help of Houston police officers and the Precinct 4 Constable’s Office. This morning, the Montgomery County Search and Rescue Team began a systematic search of the area.

No one in Bradford’s family saw him leave, and they told police they don’t know of any reason why he would run away.

They told police he could have walked into the woods, where he and his brothers often go. They are worried, police say, because the teen needs to take seizure medication regularly.

Bradford is 5 foot 9 and weighs 190 pounds; he has medium-length brown hair. He is a student at Keefer Middle School. Relatives did not know what clothing he was wearing when he disappeared.
