Police launch murder inquiry after man found stabbed in Lincoln

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death at a bar.

Police and paramedics were called to Mezz Bar in Ruston Way, Lincoln, at 1.45am on Monday.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “A 40-year-old local man was taken to Lincoln County Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

“Police inquiries were immediately begun but no arrests have been made at this stage.”

A post-mortem examination will be conducted later.

Detective Chief Inspector David Wood appealed for anyone in or near the bar to contact police on 0300 111 0300.
