Complainant in Bounty Killer case a no show

Bounty Killer...will apply for his passport to be returned later this month.

DANCEHALL Deejay Bounty Killer will return to court in January to face assault and unlawful wounding charges.

When the case was called up today the complainant in the matter Racquel Smith, did not turn up, forcing Resident Magistrate Lorna Shelly Williams to postpone the matter to January 11.

Bounty Killer, whose real name is Rodney Pryce, was arrested in September after Smith turned up at the Constant Spring Police station and complained that Pryce had assaulted her with a hammer, a battery powered mosquito squatter and a chain.

Police reported that she was badly bruised and bloodied when she complained to them.

On the last court date in October, Smith indicated through her lawyer Terrence Ballentine, that she wanted the matter to be sent to mediation.

Ballentine said his client and Pryce had been together for three years and he had never hit her until the incident. He said Smith wanted to continue her relationship with the Deejay.

However, Resident Magistrate Williams flatly rejected the request.

Pryce will also return to court later this month to make a formal application to have his passport, which was taken by police as as a condition of his $500,000 bail, returned.
