AN angry mob gathered outside the Mandeville Resident Magistrate’s Court this morning and demanded that they be allowed to deliver their brand of justice to a man accused of sexually molesting a 13-year-old boy.

Miguel Silvero Santos, a 23-year-old Dominican Republic businessman, is charged with gross indecency and was remanded in custody when his case was mentioned.

Santos was arrested in the town last Friday after he was caught with his pants down behind a 13-year-old boy in a fast food restaurant by an alert security guard.

The child begged the man for money and was given $500 before being led to a rest room. The guard grew suspicious and went inside the rest room where he caught the man in the act.

When news of the incident broke a large crowd gathered outside the Mandeville police station condemning the act and to catch a glimpse of the accused man.

Police beefed up security around the court to prevent any violence.  Santos will return to court on July 22.

He is part of a Colombian trade show which has been travelling across the island. The operators of the trade show have since expressed concerns for their safety and have been ordered out of Mandeville by the irate residents.
