Young girl tells how she was abused by sailor

A sailor sexually assaulted a teenage girl four times in the space of a few days, a court heard.

Jonathan Tilller, who is in the Royal Navy, is alleged to have repeatedly abused the girl.

Giving evidence at Portsmouth Crown Court the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said: ‘I was scared to say anything because I didn’t know what to do.

‘It felt really weird and horrible.’

Prosecutor William Mousley said: ‘She was and is a sensible, honest, hard-working girl who had never got into any sort of trouble.

‘The prosecution submit that she had no reason to make it up but that perhaps the defendant would have every reason to deny it.’

The 42-year-old was arrested in February last year after the girl told her friend about what she claims happened.

He told the police he had not assaulted the child.

Tiller, from Broomfield Crescent, Gosport, has pleaded not guilty to four counts of sexual activity with a child.
