Woman Attacked After Asking Man For Directions

SANTA ANA — Police have arrested a man accused of attacking a woman who stopped to ask him for directions.

Police say the 55-year-old Huntington Beach woman a pulled into the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store at 302 E. 17th St. to ask a man who was standing near the front of the business for driving directions. The man walked up to the woman, punched her in the face and tried to reach into her car to grab her purse, Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.

What 25-year old Ramon Ramirez Partida, didn’t know was that the victim’s adult son was sleeping in the back seat.   The young man got out of the car, punched Partida in the face and detained him until police arrived, Bertagna said.  Partida was arrested on suspicion of robbery and battery.   The Huntington Beach woman suffered minor abrasions to her face during the attack.   Partida also reportedly sustained minor injuries to his face and head during the fight with the victim’s son.
