Thirteen-year-old, 12-year-old face murder charges in Dallas shootings

A 13-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl face murder charges after allegedly carrying out a double shooting in Texas.

Forty-six-year-old Darlene Nevil was killed in the shootings in Garland, northeast of Dallas, yesterday, while her husband, Alan Nevil, was injured, The Dallas Morning News said.

Police called to the scene found Alan Nevil lying in a neighbour’s yard with wounds to his arm and leg. He had crawled out a window to escape the gunfire, the Morning News reported. Darlene Nevil was found dead inside the couple’s home.

The boy and girl were arrested several blocks from the scene of the shootings.

Police would not reveal the relationship between the couple and the teens. The couple reportedly lived with their teenage daughter, who was not injured in the attack.
