A VICTORIAN music teacher groomed his female pupils before raping and assaulting them, filming his attacks.
Colin Harold Doo, 51, of central Victoria, pleaded guilty to more than 30 counts including six of rape, 12 of indecent acts with a child under 16 and seven of procuring a minor for purposes of child pornography.
There were 11 identified victims aged from seven to 16 during the offending between 1996 to 2008. The Victorian Supreme Court heard that Doo met his victims through his job as a music tutor. He groomed them by befriending their families and gaining their trust, and offering his victims sweets and fun activities like the use of his home computer.
The court heard Doo set up secret cameras in his home to film his assaults and even set up one in a homemade toilet in his bedroom so he could film his victims using it. He took footage of two victims who were raped while appearing unconscious and in some cases superimposed his victim’s faces onto other pornographic images.
