Police ignored my Facebook pleas

Bizarre messages ... Elise Wallis repeatedly contacted local police

POLICE ignored two separate warnings from a young woman about threats from a Facebook stalker less than two weeks before a Sydney teenager was allegedly murdered by a “friend” from the social networking site.

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal 21-year-old Picton woman Elise Wallis was so terrified by bizarre messages she received from Facebook “friends” that she repeatedly contacted local police.

Ms Wallis told officers the identity of the man she believed was behind the threats and detailed the contents of the emails.

Police just weeks ago twice turned the terrified young woman away, telling her there was nothing they could do because the messages were made through Facebook.

A teenager from a nearby suburb was killed 10 days ago after being allegedly lured into bushland by a young man who detectives believe used fake Facebook identities to befriend his victim.
