A BRITISH pedophile suspect was deported from Chile after traveling to the South American country to allegedly buy a 14-year-old boy.
Police said the man, Nigel Turner – who has not been charged with any offence – was planning to share the teenager with a child sex ring in Europe, Sky News reported.
The suspect was held by immigration officers at Valparaiso Airport, in central Chile, after a tip-off by British detectives.
Public prosecutor Jorge Chocair, in Chile, told reporters: “British police told us they found the clothes of a Chilean boy at his home and discovered he had been emailing people in this country.”
The boy’s mother, who is said to have negotiated with Mr Turner over the sale of her 14-year-old son, denied the claim.
She said: “He only helped us pay my son’s school fees – nothing more than that.”
Police searched the woman’s home in the town of La Calera, near Valparaiso, where Mr Turner had apparently once worked.
When Mr Turner arrived in Chile last week, he was seized, questioned and then deported. After being flown back to Heathrow Airport, in London, he was allowed to go home.
