Missouri auto dealer pleads guilty to aiding al-Qaida

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City used car and auto parts dealer has admitted to sending money to al-Qaida.

Federal prosecutors say 32-year-old Khalid Ouazzani pleaded guilty to several charges today morning in federal court in Kansas City, Missouri.

They say the Moroccan-born naturalized U.S. citizen admitted he sent $23,500 to the terrorist organization through a bank in the United Arab Emirates between August and November 2007.

A message left with Ouazzani’s attorney seeking comment was not immediately returned today
