Mel Gibson, was my idol for a long time, and when he did the ‘Lethal weapons’ films, it cemented my idolisation of the man, I got so much enjoyment out of those films.

He was my idol, because I love the fact that although he was a ‘Hollywood’ superstar, he was married with a great family, there were never any adverse reports against him in the media and he just strike me as a great man, great father and a great husband.

Then his marriage fell apart, he got divorce and it seems that he just spiral into a depth that he cannot find his way out of  and the last months must be a complete nightmare for a once individual that so many people respect, love and adore.  How can anyone allow themselves to get so low, and I found an article on the Internet about Mel, of which I have quote below, this may put into prospective some of the media report about the man.

Mel Gibson in Relationships

“His desire for harmonious relationships and surroundings is so strong that he avoids personal confrontations or any expression of intense, unpleasant emotions. Mel Gibson is an idealist who would like to paint the world in pastel colors, and live in peace and harmony with others at all times. He is able to see points of similarity and unity with people who are vastly different from him, and befriend many different types of people. He is a considerate and thoughtful friend, and has a real flair for making others feel accepted and appreciated. Inwardly Mel Gibson is often torn with indecision and is much more at odds with himself than others would ever guess from his smooth, even disposition”.

“Mel Gibson craves very intense, deep, emotional relationships, and would even prefer stormy, tumultuous relationships to ones that are smooth but lacking vitality and passion. Mel loves wholeheartedly and expects all-consuming, total devotion and attention from his partner. Casual, light relationships hold no appeal for Gibson”.

Maybe those information about Mel, was true at the time that they were written, but given the latest episode of his life one would be hard press to associate those comments above, with the man that we are seeing today.  This is a very sad affair, and to see someone like Mel Gibson fall from grace, make you realise that everyone is fallible, and hitting rock bottom can happen to anyone irrespective of who you are whether you are rich or poor.

I hope he can come back from the edge of darkness that he has find himself.
