Grammy-award Buju sentenced to 10 years in prison

Grammy-award winning reggae superstar, Buju Banton, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Buju, whose real name is Mark Myrie, was sentenced Thursday morning [June 23] in the Sam M Gibbons Federal Court in Tampa, Florida, after being found guilty in February on gun and drug charges.

Buju’s lawyers have indicated that they will challenge both the verdict and the sentence.
