Boy, 4, in hospital after fall from window

A 4-year-old boy is suffering from life-threatening injuries after falling from the second floor of a Brampton home.

Peel police say the incident happened at a home on Trevino Cres., in the Gore Rd. and Queen St. E. area, at around 4:45 p.m.  The youngster was originally transported to a local hospital, but has since gone to a hospital in Toronto, said Peel Const. Adam Minnion.  Officers are still investigating, but are not treating the fall as suspicious.

The child is not the first to fall from a window this summer. Two Durham toddlers fell on the same day in separate incidents on June 4. In the morning, a boy just shy of 2 fell from the third-floor window of a townhouse on Simcoe St. S. His mother immediately drove him to hospital, where he was treated and released.

Later that evening, an Ajax toddler fell from the second-storey window of a townhouse complex on Oxlade Cres.  The 3-year-old boy had been standing on his bed talking to another child when he fell through the open window.  After landing onto the wooden deck of the house, he was taken to hospital with non-life threatening head injuries.
