I was taught, growing up that religion is about, love, honesty, kindness, and the path to a peaceful existence with your fellow man.
Therefore I find it extremely difficult to fathom when any religion hold its people captive.
The Somali militiant banning people from watching the world cup, because they believe it prevents “distract them from pursuing holy jihad.” is so stupid. This is taking religion too far, and religion was never suppose to oppress anyone.
If a religious believe oppresses it’s follower then it can be no good. It does not matter what people call their religious leader, whether it is God, Mohammad, Buddha, Allah, we are worshiping the same supreme being and although we may interpret his name differently he is one and the same.
There is no way that the Almighty would sanctioned the crap that the Somali militant are enforcing against ordinary people.
The fact that human beings created the so-called ‘Sharia law’, and are using the contents of this law to enslave and take away the rights of individuals, has sod all to do with religion.
Religion is about the freedom to choose, and no one can make an inform choice it they are subjected to one rule of thought and cannot see the other. Blind faith, is stupid faith and these individual needs to know that.
God, as given mankind the ability to create good, and evil and if he was as destructive as these people are he would wipe them and there stupidity off the face of the earth, instead he has allowed them to continue in their stupid ways and that is because he has given us all, whatever religious back-ground you are from, freedom of choice.
Mohammad, would himself find what individuals are doing in his name rather stupid. When people’s lives are threaten because they show unflattering images of Mohammad, then that his where we have taken this too far. These individuals need to know that all of these prophets as the ability to take care of themselves, and the fact that they all preach love and unity should be the blue-print to humans that taking the lives of other in their names is stupid, infantile and downright disgusting.
