So simple a baby can get it

Restoring Jamaica and the world to a place where humans can enjoy happy lives while making maximum contributions to the prosperity of the planet is really very simple. There are still some people living on earth who know what it means to love their neighbour as they love themselves. People who know what it means to give a fair day’s work for a fair day’s pay and who know what it takes to give the best service possible in every sector of community and national existence. There are even those who know what it means to be the best in global existence, but a firm line must be drawn against those who seek to use globalism to undermine, exploit and underdevelop any nation state.

The focus here is on Jamaica, a tiny Caribbean pearl that once in the 1960s seemed poised to take off for glorious heights of accomplishment in every sector possible. Yet, the national ship was virtually wrecked in the 1970s and seems to be sinking daily into the depths of a socio-economic abyss. Both naysayers and well-meaning people have identified what they believe to be causes for Jamaica running shipwrecked, but too few have focused on what, in this writer’s opinion, is the number one problem, that is, interference from foreign entities. It was Cold War turbulence that knocked the Jamaican ship off keel as JLP and PNP leaders in the 1970s and beyond allowed themselves to be used as pawns by exploitative forces from the US and other foreign powers. The Cubans had stepped in to help Michael Manley keep the boat afloat when it appeared that the Americans were hell-bent on wrecking the country to prevent Manley from succeeding at democratic socialism. Hopefully, the Jamaican side of the story is well known by all Jamaicans by now. There were the Orange Street fire, Golden Age home deaths, bauxite levy, flight of rich people, and other developments that cemented political tribalism, murders and mayhem as Jamaica’s national pastimes. As usual, most people fell for the trick of missing the forest for the trees. They could only see Jamaican politicians leading tribal wars and Jamaicans maligning and murdering each other. But what about the rest of the story?

Behind these developments in Jamaica were Euro-American instigators. Maybe the same people who orchestrated Nazism and communism arranged the Cold War. Jamaicans were and are still being had – screwed and bamboozled. Jamaica will never recover from its present socio-economic debacle unless all Jamaicans focus on the big picture and accurately pinpoint the nation’s main problem, namely manipulation and destabilisation.

For the demoniacs, “Only the fittest of the fittest shall survive/Stay alive” (Bob Marley). Some politicians might not get it and so all Jamaicans must focus on this foreign infiltration as the root of all the nation’s problems. During slavery and colonialism it was easier to see the exploitations committed by Europeans against Jamaicans, but since Independence Jamaicans have fallen easy prey to Euro-American atrocities. Wake up, Jamaicans, and realise that in their racist relay to exploit Jamaica, Euro-Americans have passed the baton to Spain, Portugal, The Netherlands, England, America, and now multinational corporations.

Concerning economics, Jamaica is drowning under perpetual indebtedness. The IMF serves to weaken Jamaica’s currency, thus giving total advantage to the island’s main trading partners who happen to be Euro-Americans. Some invade Jamaica to control hotels and other tourism-related products, the profits from which fly out of the island faster than they come in. They are now working to control every sector of Jamaican economic life, including education, health care, transportation, agriculture, energy, bauxite, and mining. Local businesses suffer because fast-food chains and other foreign retailers are allowed to dump their wares in the country. Politically, the exploiters use treaties and other lopsided agreements to control Jamaica. Socially, exploiters arrange for drugs and guns to flow through Jamaica and for gangs and other social miscreants to wreak havoc on the nation. Insightful readers already get the picture: the exploiters labour to stick it to Jamaicans in every way possible. One of their most offensive social poison pills is their current campaign to dump homosexuality on the nation’s God-fearing masses. Of course, just as in the Manley years, whenever Jamaicans stand up for their rights the exploiters use intimidation and bullying tactics to destroy the country. But most Jamaicans know the Almighty God.

Obviously, Jamaicans who allow themselves to be abused and misused by these Euro-American exploiters must share the blame for the nation’s demise. Jamaicans are loving, peaceful people with a great work ethic and resourceful ideas for survival and growth. Jamaicans are being oppressed and suppressed by foreign forces, causing them to achieve less than their best. The instances of this exploitation are so numerous and the situation is so clear and simple, even a baby can get it.
