Men jailed for major ‘drugs and firearms conspiracy’

Seven men have been jailed for their part in a major drugs and firearms conspiracy spanning the UK, Europe and South America.

As well as the weapons, the gang smuggled cocaine with a street value of £10m into the UK.   The men are from Angus, Fife, Dundee, Liverpool, Bradford and Croydon. Their sentences ranged from 11 to 22 years.

Police said the four-year investigation to convict them was “complex and protracted”.  Officers from Lancashire Constabulary and the Scottish Crime and Drugs Enforcement Agency (SCDEA) were involved in the inquiry, known as Operation Greengage.
