If the information that is floating around is to be believe, he was release on medical grounds as he was suppose to have been dead in three months, which have now turned out to be a year.
The US is hopping mad, the Scottish is not playing ball, and innuendos of cover up and oil, seems to be the order of the day. In order for this to be permanently laid to rest, the Scottish need to make the medical records for Megrahi public. Although, a person’s medical information should be private between them and their physician, the situation has gone too far, and I am sure the US will not let go until they have satisfactory answers as to why a terrorist who admitted to murdering 270 people was release on humanitarian grounds, if that was not the case.
If there is nothing to hide then both Jack Straw and Kenny MacAskill should attend the US inquiry to answer their question, their refusal make it appear that there is something to hide.
If it is proven that there were other alternatives motives for his release, other than medical then the 270 people’s death would be in vain. The atrocities that leave many families devastated today will raked up the pain they had to try and live with for so many years.
I cannot understand the levels that human beings will sink to. Before we start castrating the Scottish and former labour foreign secretary, let us wait to hear the outcome of the inquiry, whether they attend or not the US will have their inquiry.
It is a real shame, I feel sorry for the families who lost loves ones in the lockerbie bombings, they must be hopping mad.
What I find strange, is if Megrahi was release because he had only 3 moths to live, now that he has lived for a year, did the people who release him believe that this would not be notice, or did they believe he would fade in the background and that would be the end of that, how wrong can human beings be.
