Four injured in Custard Factory shooting in Birmingham

“BBC News” – Four people have been injured in a shooting at a nightclub in Birmingham city centre.

West Midlands Police were called to The Custard Factory in Gibb Street, Digbeth, shortly after 0100 BST.

Officers found three men aged 20, 23, and 25, and a 25-year-old woman with gunshot wounds.

All four have been taken to hospital but their conditions are not yet known. Police have appealed for club-goers to come forwards with information.

Extra patrols

The Custard Factory, a mixed-use arts centre, was hosting an Urban Music Event.

Police have sealed off part of Digbeth High Street to allow a forensic examination of the scene to take place.

Det Insp Tom Chisholm said: “We know a large number of people were there and we are appealing for them to contact the police urgently with any information they may have.

“All gun crime is treated seriously and we want to reassure the local community we will have a team of officers this morning working on the incident and increased patrols in the area.”
