Woman punched in face by robbers who fled with cash

ROBBERS punched a woman shop assistant in the face before stealing cash from a garage.

The men, wearing hoods and scarves across their faces, threatened staff and demanded the money when they burst into Loggins Garage in Heanor Road, Loscoe, at about 9.45pm last night.

They then took a cash box and ran out of the shop. The manager chased them along Longbridge Lane but lost sight of them.

The extent of the woman’s injuries are not yet known.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.

One of the robbers was black and the other was white. Both were in their 20s and were wearing hooded tops and tracksuit bottoms.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call Derbyshire police on 0345 123 3333 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
