THE Opposition People’s National Party is now tabling a no confidence motion against the Government in Parliament.
It’s being tested by a number of technicalities raised by Government members, one being that the standing orders prevent persons from reading from a written speech, as was done by Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller.
Simpson Miller has made her contribution to the motion. Next is Opposition member Peter Bunting, who is saying that Government acted to deliberately conceal their “improper activities” in order to delay the extradition request for former Tivoli Gardens don Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke.
Government members say they will participate in the debate.
The motion calls for the prime minister to be censured regarding the Manatt, Phelps and Phillips affair, which saw the Jamaica Labour Party approaching the United States (US) law firm to lobby the US government on Coke’s behalf
