UK Border Agency – Why so heartless

By Sandrea: MY GRIPE

You read the story on the plight of the Chernobyl children that have been refused visa to enter the United Kingdom for a much wanted 1 month holiday and it makes one so angry that these children are been treated so badly.  It is bad enough they have to live with the fallout of a nuclear disaster that have robbed them of a healthy living, and then be kicked in the teeth by a bureaucratic organisation.

The comment made by Barbara Woodward, head of the international group at UKBA “This is not about red tape, this is about safe-guarding vulnerable children” is absolutely baloney. She cannot believe that we are going to buy into that bull, how stupid she must thing the general pubic is, when you read the story you do not need to ask why they sudden started refusing visa to these children.

The ‘article’ shows that the charity involved in arranging these well needed one month break for these children has been doing so for a very long time and during this period they have been no know adverse criticism about their work, they have nothing to say that any of the children that they have placed with British couples have been abused.  So for Barbara Woodward, to make such a comment is share poppy-cock.

As Brian Bennett, stated “These charities are better at child protection than the UK Border Agency”

If the UK Border Agency want to start charging these children for the visa, they should do so and stop finding ridiculous excuses to prevent these children from the holiday of a life-time – and it certain seems to be a life-time holiday.

I cannot understand why human being have such a propensity to do cruel things to others and when it is children it makes it much more heart-breaking.  The worse situations that I could see is for these charity workers having to tell a child that their holiday has been cancelled because some bureaucrat, decide that the child health is not important.

How do these people sleep at nights, knowing that their decisions have such a negative and dramatic affect on other people’s life, is it the power that they wield that they get off on, so that they do not feel human emotions for the decision they make, when they mess up other life.

What makes me angry is the pathetic excuses they then come up with to justify their bad behaviour, for crying out loud these are children that are suffering one month holiday make not be nothing for the decision makers, but for these children, it is necessary.

UK Border Agency, if you want the charities to pay for the visa for the children, say so, do not try and tell them a lot of mambo-jumbo, just be honest, because if the charities know they have to pay then I am sure they will ask for more donations in order to meet that requirement.
