THE suspect accused of kidnapping a four-year-old girl from Louisiana, Missouri shot himself dead today.
Authorities had tracked the suspect, who allegedly took Alisa Maier from her front yard on Monday, to a house in Lincoln County, Missouri, sources close to the investigation told KMOV.com.
An Amber Alert was issued after Miss Maier was abducted and information from a store that the suspect bought clothing from led police to the property.
They were approaching the house when the suspect came outside and killed himself.
Miss Maier was found last night (local time) at a car wash in Fenton, Missouri, about 150km from her home in Louisiana.
Witnesses alerted authorities after seeing a car with a “loud muffler” that matched the description of a dark sedan that Miss Maier’s six-year-old brother had seen when the young girl was allegedly abducted.
