MONTEGO BAY, St James — Senior investigators at the Montego Bay CIB are interrogating a male suspect who was held by the Trelawny police early this morning in connection with the fatal stabbing of Paul Gardner, managing director of the Wexford Hotel.
The suspect was reportedly held at the Greenwood border of Trelawny and St James about 2:00 am by members of the Trelawny police who were on patrol.
The police became suspicious when they saw a car driving without headlights turned on and went to investigate. One of the occupants of the car fled, but the other male occupant whose clothes was drenched in blood was nabbed. A bloodied knife was also recovered from the car.
Following questioning, the suspect led the police to a house in the swanky Mango Walk community where the body of Gardner was found in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds.
