Judgement reserved in Dudus judicial review

CHIEF Justice Zaila McCalla today reserved her judgement in the application for a judicial review filed by lawyers representing wanted fugitive Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke.

The Chief justice promised the lawyers that she would deliver her verdict ‘as soon as possible’.

The lawyers are seeking to prevent Coke, who is wanted in the United States to face gun and drugs running charges, from being extradited.

Coke is seeking a Judicial Review of the decision by Justice Minister Dorothy Lightbourne, giving the authority to proceed with extradition proceedings against him.

The fugitive has managed to elude several attempts by security forces to nab him and the case before the Supreme Court does not prevent the police from executing the arrest warrant against him.
