FORMER Miss World and Miss Russia Anna Malova was charged with criminal possession of narcotics, forgery and criminal impersonation of a physician in New York.
Ms Malova, 38, who made the top 10 of the Miss Universe pageant in 1998, was arrested walking out of a pharmacy on 6th Avenue in Greenwich Village. The pharmacist said Ms Malova’s doctor believed Malova stole a prescription pad and wrote out fake prescriptions for painkillers.
Police arrested Ms Malova less than three months ago and charged her with petty larceny for the same crime. Ms Malova was praised for being a medical doctor in her native Russia when she won Miss Russia, but is not licensed to practice medicine in the US.
