Eurostar services are suspended pending a police investigation into an incident in which a trespasser accessed the British stretch of the high speed rail link.
Customers due to travel today were able to exchange their tickets for a later date with the line set to remain closed until police conclude their probe, a message on the firm’s website said.
“Due to a person on the high speed line in the UK, Eurostar services are currently suspended,” the message said.
“Police are currently investigating the situation and services will remain suspended until they have completed their investigation.
“If you are due to travel this evening and no longer wish to travel you will be able to exchange your booking for travel on another day.”
Eurostar, which offers high speed rail service between London and Paris and London and Brussells, would not reveal details of the incident, but added that it treated all cases of trespass extremely seriously.
