Carolyn Cooper – You are talking a load of bull

By Sandrea: MY GRIPE

What a loaf of bull coming out of Dr Carolyn Cooper mouth, I cannot understand why she would believe that ‘Beres Hammond ‘song ‘Rock Away’ is telling a lie.

I think she need to go and listen to the words carefully, because if she does I cannot see how she could come to such a conclusion.

In my opinion the depiction of the song, suggest that there was a time when that kind of music would have everyone dancing and enjoying themselves, as music those days send messages of hope, love, and unity.

Today’s music, or what what is known as dance-hall, I find to be purely organise noise, the lyrics crude and certainly not my taste.

The majority of Jamaican, can remember, the days of  Toots and the Maytal, Dennis Brown, Bob Marley, Alton Ellis, and many more who gave us vintage reggae.  One didn’t have to be listening to crude and body part assassination of today artiste.

Those artiste never used their music to target vulnerable people, they never orchestrate the burning of any group, so as far as I am concern that is the reason that those vintage reggae still live on.  Bob Marley music is still as popular today as it was when the man was alive.

To compare Beres Hammond music with today’s rubbish, is an insult to a great artiste and in my view there are no comparison, and a lot of Beres fans will agree with me.  We are not narrow-minded either we just appreciate good lyrics, put to fantastic music.
