Arrest over London store bomb threat

A MAN was arrested early Thursday after breaking into a fashion accessories shop in central London and threatening to blow himself up, the Metropolitan Police said.

Officers had surrounded the Accessorize store in Regent Street after being alerted by an alarm at 12:20am local time.

They arrested a man nearly six hours later after negotiators had earlier attempted to speak to him.

There was no confirmation as to whether the man had explosives.

The shop is close to the Oxford Circus subway station and also many pubs and clubs in one of the English capital’s busiest tourist areas.
