HOTEL heiress Paris Hilton has been arrested on a cocaine charge in Las Vegas, police said tonight.
Hilton was arrested for possession of cocaine after officers stopped the car she was in on a Las Vegas street late yesterday.
Public Information officer Marcus Martin said Hilton was booked into the Clark County Detention Centre early on Saturday morning on a charge of possession of cocaine.
He says she was in a car driven by a friend that was stopped when officers noticed what they suspected to be marijuana smoke coming from it.
Mr Martin said that during the stop officers found what appeared to be a controlled substance on Hilton and tests showed that it was cocaine.
He said he didn’t know how much of the drug was found.
Las Vegas police Lieutenant Wayne Holman says that the celebrity was still being held around 2am on Saturday, local time and will probably be released on her own recognisance this evening.
