BRITISH Prime Minister David Cameron’s father died this morning, Downing Street confirmed.
“It is with deep regret we can confirm that Ian Cameron died earlier this afternoon. He passed away shortly after the prime minister arrived at the hospital in France where he was undergoing treatment,” Mr Cameron’s spokesman said.
Mr Cameron flew to France earlier yesterday after he learned that his father suffered a stroke while on holiday.
The news came less than a month after the prime minister’s wife, Samantha, gave birth to their fourth child, Florence.
The Prime Minister was only days back from paternity leave when he heard the news of his father’s illness.
