Mother of suicide girls devastated as drugs claim her third daughter

A mother who lost two daughters to suicide is today grieving for a third who died from an apparent drugs overdose.

Kate Borau was said to be “completely heartbroken” after finding 26-year-old Emily dead.

The tragedy comes three years after IT consultant and part-time DJ Emily lost her sisters Isabel, 17, and Anna, 21, who killed themselves within two months of each other.

Mrs Borau, from Sutton, wrote about her latest heartache on websites dedicated to the girls.

She wrote: “My third daughter Emily died yesterday from an accidental drug overdose. She is now with her two sisters. Dear God, please take care of them until I can be with them.”

After her sisters’ death, Emily wrote about her devastation, begging others not to hurt their families by killing themselves.

An inquest into Emily’s death has been opened and adjourned.

A police source said: “There does not appear to be anything suspicious about the way Emily died. It seems she had a cardiac arrest after taking drugs the night before. It is a tragic waste, and even more so given the history of her family.”

Mrs Borau, who has two other children, Jenny, 21, and 10-year-old son Hannes, found Isabel at her flat near the family home in November 2006.

She hanged herself with her Chelsea football scarf. Two months later, Anna was also found hanging. The girls were said to be haunted by their father Peter’s suicide in October, 2005.

A family friend said: “Kate is devastated beyond belief. How can one woman suffer so much pain? All the girls were stunning and seemed to have everything to live for. To lose three is too much for Kate to bear.” Just after the deaths of Isabel and Anna, Mrs Borau, an intensive care nurse, said: “To bury one child hurts more than you can ever imagine but to bury a second so soon afterwards is a hundred times more painful. To lose two beautiful, young, intelligent women, my best friends and my whole world, is like losing my limbs. My world has caved in.”
