Leona Lewis has split from childhood sweetheart Lou Al-Chamaa according to reports.
Sources close to the pair said the singer’s heavy workload, coupled with preparations for her UK tour, were to blame for the shock separation after more than a decade together.
Lou, who was an electrician before becoming a Sony Music talent scout, is said to have made the decision to end things after becoming tired of his girlfriend’s constant globe trotting.
Rumours of trouble started circulating when he failed to show up to many of the 25-year-old’s gigs. But the X Factor winner carried on with her Labyrinth tour in London on Friday night even though Lou did not show up for her Wednesday night concert.
A close friend told MailOnline: “Obviously being a long-term relationship, it makes things very complicated and extremely difficult. But they have decided it is best they go their separate ways.”
Leona’s spokesman refused to comment but insiders say she thought Lou was ‘the one’ and is devastated to find herself single.
Last year in an interview she was quoted as saying: “One day we [Lou] will get married, I’m sure of it. But that’s a long way down the line. We’re so young still.”
