PARTY of Five star Jeremy London is set to sue his mother for “telling harmful lies” to the media in response to the actor’s kidnap allegations, celebrity website RadarOnline claims.
London’s lawyer, Catherine Lombardo, told the website that her client was suing his mother, Debbie Nielsen, twin brother Jason and Jason’s girlfriend Sofia Karsten, and had sought an injunction against them to “specifically to stop (them) telling harmful lies.”
London, 37, was said to be furious that his family told the media they doubted the validity of his allegations and that they believed he needed “serious psychological help and drug treatment as soon as possible”.
Their comments came after he told officers at the Palm Springs Police Department in California that on June 10 he was attempting to change a tire on the side of the road, when he was approached by two men offering their assistance.
He said that he was then taken against his will at gunpoint, robbed and forced to smoke drugs, before he managed to escape.
However, Jason London told People magazine, “Jeremy’s behavior right now is indicative of whenever he’s back on drugs.
“The fact that he’s lashing out against his own family and has shut us out is just one more sign of how sick he really is.
“For months, Jeremy has cut off his whole family and he refuses to talk to us. We’re desperate for anyone to get him help and that’s why we’re speaking out.”
Police have arrested Brandon Adams, 26, over the alleged incident and charged him with kidnapping and theft.
FOXNews.com reported that Mr Adams claimed he and London “partied together” on the night of the alleged abduction.
“An investigation is currently pending and I’m confident that a jury will find that the allegations are just not true,” said Mr Adams’ lawyer, Gregory Geist.
In response to Mr Adam’s allegations, London issued a statement maintaining he was forced into using drugs that night, “I had a gun put to my head. I had my family threatened.”
According to RadarOnline, London undergoes regular drugs testing since his stint in rehab, where he battled an addiction to prescription pills.
