With the problems in Gaza, Afghanistan, Iraq, Jamaica, to name a few. All these places at the moment that have serious human problems. People dying everyday either by guns, knife and or security forces, are you telling me that California as nothing better to do than pass legislation to ban paper and plastic bags.
The priority of these organisations really baffles the hell out of me.
I am sure there must be more pressing things that Californians want from their elected representatives, than sitting down and coming up with silly legislation like that.
According to the report the reason for the forth-coming legislation is ” to get rid of unsightly disposable plastic bags that often wind up in urban rivers and the ocean, as well as to reduce the number of bags heading for landfills”.
Whilst, the California Assembly passed this legislation, I wonder if their thoughts go to the number of people they will be putting out of jobs. People who are employed to make these unsightly plastic and paper bags that they are stopping pharmacies, grocery, liquor and convenience stores from giving out. And to add insult to injury, the bill also calls for customers to be charged for using store-issued paper bags.
I suppose, somewhere in the legislation is a clause that state how they are going to re-create the jobs that will be lost as a direct result of this legislation.
In my opinion, do politicians use their brains or do they just get up one day and decide the best way to mess up people’s life.
I suppose they will tell us that they are protecting the environment and this is the main reason for this legislation. I am sure that they could have come up with a better resolution that could not only help the environment, but ensure that people in the industry they are targeting remain employed.
