Stab victim is treated in the US

A teenage stabbing victim is being treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital after being airlifted to the US on Monday.

The 17-year-old, from Sandys, is in the Intensive Care Unit of the Baltimore hospital following the assault on Saturday.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and motorists who were travelling on Middle Road through the Port Royal area at around 12 noon that day.

A Police spokesman said three men are suspected to have been involved in the confrontation at a bus stop which resulted in the teenager receiving “serious stab wounds” to the chest.

A 17-year-old from St. George’s was arrested at the nearby Traditions restaurant after allegedly contacting the Police himself. He has since been released on bail.

Anyone with information should contact the Western Criminal Investigation Unit on 234 1010.

Beaten teenager is recovering

A teenager beaten, kicked and punched by a gang of men is recovering in hospital.

The 19-year-old from Devonshire was initially thought to have suffered minor injuries in the assault, but his condition worsened over the weekend and he was admitted to ICU.

Police say he was set upon by “two or three young men with a blunt object” in Woodlawn Road, Sandys, at 1 p.m. on Thursday. He was also punched and kicked.

Last night however, his condition was described as “satisfactory” at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
